Ms. Pomeroy is our fourth grade teacher. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, so was lucky to grow up by the beach!
She attended the University of Portland for her undergrad years (majoring in Elementary Education), and studied abroad in Perth, Australia. After college, she joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and taught third grade in Phoenix. After staying there for a couple of years, she decided to move back to L.A. for her Masters in Literacy at LMU and to be closer to her family.
She has one sister, loves swimming, playing tennis, and spending summers in Maine, near Acadia National Park. She loves the community at St. Monica’s, and the fourth grade curriculum that enables her to explore so many interesting subjects with her students. Ms. Pomeroy believes that teaching and learning should incorporate individual learning styles through hands-on work, cooperative, project-based learning, and independent work.
