24th Annual S.M.A.S.H. Gala Benefiting St. Monica Catholic Schools and Lay Community

The S.M.A.S.H. Gala has been part of the St. Monica community for
the past 24 years. S.M.A.S.H. was established to ensure that quality
education and formation remain accessible to St. Monica Catholic
Schools’ families who cannot otherwise afford it. Approximately 200
students in our schools currently receive need-based financial aid. A
separate endowment for lay formation and training was established in
1997. Each year a portion of S.M.A.S.H. proceeds support the
education of numerous leaders in ministries throughout our community
such as Cornerstone, Peace and Justice, YMA, and more.

Heart of Monica Award The Heart of Monica Award was established in 2012 to recognize individuals whose loyal support has significantly transformed our schools and the students they serve. This year’s award recipient, Angelo Mazzone, demonstrates a selfless love for our community with several years of service on the Schools Board and as an active supporter of many school and parish fundraising initiatives.

Hands of Monica Award 2017 is the inaugural year for the Hands of Monica Award, established to recognize compassionate and generous individuals who have unselfishly given of their time and talent to better our schools and community. The first recipient is Lynda Auer, who has been part of the St. Monica community for over 37 years - as a parent, grandparent, parishioner, supporter, and longtime school secretary at the elementary school.
